Curiousity awaits beneath The Botanist...
The 18th century, a time of global exploration, where world travellers discovered vast collections of unique and exotic species of plants and flowers from all corners of the globe.
Such novelties aroused interest among well-to-do middle-class citizens, and botanical and horticultural societies were set up all over the country, with Birmingham's society founded in 1829.
Legend has it rare collections were housed in an undisclosed part of the city, a secret garden or even a plant room, remaining forgotten... until now.
