Book Mathematics: The Winton Gallery
Telling the story of how mathematics has shaped our world, our newest permanent gallery features objects spanning 400 years of human ingenuity to bring mathematical history to life through the design and architecture of its displays.
Designed by the world-renowned Zaha Hadid Architects, this beautiful gallery is designed following the lines of airflow around a Handley Page aircraft from 1923 suspended from their ceiling in a stunning display of imagined aerodynamics. Other objects in the gallery range from intriguing hand-held mathematical instruments to 18th-century human skulls, covering a time-span from the Renaissance to the present day.
