Our favourite Hammersmith private dining venues

There’s not much to disagree over regarding the borough of Hammersmith. It’s mostly a residential area of West London but doesn’t lack restaurants, bars, or cafés, and it’s great for theatre and entertainment year-round. In the summer it has many pubs with beer gardens and riverside bars along the Thames.

Even for people who hardly spend time in West London, it’s hard not to enjoy your time here if you find yourself at the theatre or in one of its many cafés, beer gardens, or pubs along the river.

Having said all that, let us turn our focus to another well-rounded aspect of Hammersmith–private dining venues. We’ve made a business out of knowing the latest and greatest when it comes to private dining, so it wasn’t hard for us to head out into the borough of Hammersmith and write this list for you.

5. Riverside Hammersmith private dining: The Old Ship

Hammersmith, London

The Old Ship is snug against the Thames between Hammersmith and Chiswick. The pub and its terrace are well-loved for its views almost as much as its Sunday Roasts dishing up prime cuts from Aldens, a family-run Oxfordshire butchers who have been in business since the 18th century.

The Old Ship offers the Drawing Room and the Conservatory for private hire and it is quite the popular place in Hammersmith for private dining. The pub has a dedicated events coordinator to bring your event to life and a standout British menu–either bespoke set menus, buffet, or standing drinks and canapé reception.

The Drawing Room can accommodate up to 40 seated and 50 standing guests and comes with a private bar, and the Conservatory downstairs can accommodate up to 30 seated and 50 standing guests. Both spaces offer spectacular views of the River Thames.

7. An elegant riverside Hammersmith private dining room: Sam’s Riverside

Hammersmith, London

Sam’s Riverside brasserie is sophisticated and relaxed, spacious and light. The Anglo-French cuisine and seafood dishes are more indicative of somewhere on the southern French coast rather than the Thames riverside but that’s not a complaint.

The private dining room at Sam’s boasts views of the Thames and contemporary art on the walls. It’s exclusive, intimate, and understated. The private dining room can accommodate 18 people for a private dining experience and offers views of the Thames and Hammersmith Bridge.

The modern building and contemporary European-style decor give Sam’s the feeling that you could be somewhere in the south of France, and its seasonal menu with that French touch adds to the feeling.
