Located in buzzing Queens Yard in Hackney Wick, Mick’s Garage comprises one of the UK’s first kombucha bars, SHUK SHUK, markets, and DJs to bless your ears and souls. Situated across the yard from CRATE Brewery tap room, Mick’s Garage comprises a coffee roaster, Jarr Bar, serving the CRATE core range and house brewed kombucha, and SHUK SHUK, a market BBQ from Berber & Q founders Josh Katz and Mattia Bianchi. The warehouse space, previously Mick’s Mechanics, is now home to resident DJ’s, bands, pop-ups and supper clubs.
Jarr Bar is one of London’s first kombucha tap rooms serving Jarr Kombucha flavoured with ginger, fresh raspberry or passion fruit. Drink it straight, or try it in a kombucha cocktail. At the rear of the garage is SHUK SHUK – think smokey, spicy goodness… the perfect pint partner. While SHUK SHUK’s tiled counter is reminiscent of stalls Josh visited in the bustling alleys of Tel Aviv and Marrakesh, the wooden planks and rusted corrugated iron play tribute to his favourite food shacks of the Deep South.
While Mick’s Garage is open across the weekend from 6pm Friday and midday Saturday and Sunday, the Mezzanine space also makes for a unique private venue – with a capacity of 300, Mick’s Garage has been host to a range of events from private/public parties, raves, conferences, and markets.
