Usually docked by our main bar and pizzeria (unless he’s cruising down the Lee canal of course), the Alfred Le Roy is one of our latest additions to Queen’s Yard. Named after a pub landlord back in the 70s, Alfred is not your usual wide beam canal boat. After a generous dose of CRATE styled DIY love, the team redesigned the entire interior, fully converting this beauty into a cocktail bar with tables, seating, an integrated sound system, and onsite toilet facilities.
This wonderfully versatile venue now offers a unique canal side experience – summer sees the roof wide open to let the sunshine in, whilst winter turns the boat into a warm and intimate space. The decadent drinks list includes a selection of JARR Kombucha cocktails – an Alfred special, alongside the classics, plus CRATE beer and cider, wine, and prosecco for those special occasions. If you find all this goodness going straight to your head, why not order a sharing platter that includes a variety of Neal’s Yard Dairy cheeses, charcuterie, seasonal delicatessen delights and artisan breads; our kitchen crew can tailor platters to accommodate those with any food allergies.
While Alfred is open from 6pm during the week, you can jump on board at the weekend from 10am to midday and enjoy a morning coffee and pastry, or even a Bloody Mary if the fancy takes you! As well as offering scheduled bookable cruise packages over the weekend, the boat makes for a personal and unique private venue – with a capacity of 40 seated and 55 standing.
